Lowell Miller

LOWELL G. MILLER
Founder, President, and CIO
Lowell Miller holds a BA degree in Philosophy from Sarah Lawrence College, and a Juris Doctor degree from New York University School of Law. He began his studies of the securities markets while still an undergraduate, and has continuously pursued the notion of disciplined investment strategies for over 35 years. Lowell is the author of three critically acclaimed books on investing, including his most recent, The Single Best Investment: Creating Wealth with Dividend Growth (Print Project, 2nd Edition, 2006). He has also written on financial subjects for The New York Times Magazine, was a featured guest on Louis Rukeyser’s Wall $treet Week and Bloomberg TV, and is often quoted in such financial media as The Wall Street Journal, Dow Jones Newswires, Bloomberg, and Barron’s.



John (Jack) Leslie III

JOHN (Jack) E. LESLIE III
CFA, Research Analyst and Portfolio Manager
Jack Leslie grew up in Boston and earned his BS degree in Finance from Suffolk University and his MBA from Babson College. He began his career in investments over 20 years ago and has managed money since 1987. Previously, Jack was a portfolio manager at Value Line Asset Management, M&T Capital Advisors Group (Division of M&T Bank), and Dewey Square Investors (Division of UAM). At Miller/Howard, he brings a high level of expertise in both fundamental and quantitative research skills, as well as experience managing large pools of institutional assets. In addition to his in-depth analytic skills, Jack has extensive experience in quantitative modeling and screening in the equity markets.



Bryan Spratt

BRYAN J. SPRATT
CFA, Research Analyst and Portfolio Manager
Bryan Spratt graduated summa cum laude from Spring Arbor College with a BA degree in Economics/Computer Science. He previously worked as an analyst and portfolio manager in various investment subsidiaries at Comerica Bank, from 1990 to 2001, including Munder Capital, from 1994 to 2001. At Munder he was a member of the Energy and Power Team that developed and managed the Munder Power Plus Fund, among other portfolio management responsibilities. From 2001 through 2004, Bryan was responsible for the utilities and telecom sectors for the Value Team at Banc One Investment Advisors and the One Group Funds, which ranked among the largest asset managers in the US prior to its acquisition by JP Morgan Chase.



Roger Young

ROGER G. YOUNG
CFA, Research Analyst and Portfolio Manager
Roger Young received a BS degree in Economics from the Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania. He earned a Bachelor of Foreign Trade, Spanish language, from the Thunderbird School of Global Management, and an MBA from Michigan State University. Roger began his career in the investment industry in the early 1970s. During his career, he was a portfolio manager for the Kenneth King Foundation, Director of Equities for the Public Employees Retirement Association of Colorado, portfolio manager at Equitable Life, and later, Transamerica Funds. At Transamerica, Roger started and managed the Transamerica Capital Appreciation Fund, which received a five-star ranking by MorningStar. Subsequently, he formed his own boutique management firm. Roger joined the portfolio team in 2008 after working with the firm as an adjunct analyst. He provides deep experience and analytic skills in equity income securities in general, plus special knowledge and experience with metals, communication, energy, MLPs, and financials.



Steve Chun

STEVE CHUN
Executive Vice President and Client Services/Operations Director

Steve Chun received a BA from Bard College in 1987. He joined the firm in 1999, and his current responsibilities include coordinating the sales efforts of internal and external wholesalers. He is also charged with developing and maintaining key account relationships. Prior to joining Miller/Howard Investments, Steve did marketing and management for seven years at a British art book publisher and distributor, and for seven years at Paper House Productions, an award-winning designer and manufacturer of greeting cards and gift items.



Helen Hamada

HELEN HAMADA
Corporate Vice President/Managing Director, CFO, CCO

Helen Hamada received a BA from Pennsylvania State University in 1973 and an MBA in finance from Marist College in 1997. Helen oversees general administration of the firm, accounting, development planning, and customer service. Prior to joining Miller/Howard Investments in 1990, she worked in the not-for-profit sector; her responsibilities were a blend of administration, marketing, and financial management. For seven years she served as Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer at the American Craft Council. Helen is the firm’s Chief Compliance Officer.



Annemarie Gilly

ANNEMARIE GILLY
Chief Operating Officer
Annemarie Gilly received her BA from Iona College, and joined the firm in early 2011 as Chief Operating Officer. She brings with her a vast amount of experience in the asset management industry and an unparalleled depth of knowledge and experience in open-end and closed-end funds, as well as hedge funds. Prior to joining Miller/Howard Investments, Annemarie was head of global mutual funds at The Depository Trust and Clearing Corporation, and over the past 20 years has held various senior executive and board-level positions.

Luke Theeuwes

LUKE THEEUWES - Western Region
Western Division Sales Director
Luke Theeuwes graduated from the University of Houston with a BS degree in Economics and a minor in Mathematics. Following an internship at Dean Witter, Luke began his career with Van Kampen in Chicago. Luke moved to Los Angeles to join Trust Company of the West to launch their mutual funds, and has remained in Southern California since. In the past 11 years, he has worked in sales and marketing for both US Trust and Managers Investment Group/AMG. Luke joined the firm in 2007, adding depth and experience to the sales team.



Keith Thompson

KEITH THOMPSON - Eastern Region
Eastern Division Sales Director
Keith Thompson joined Miller/Howard in the summer of 2007 after spending more than seven years at Ashfield Capital Partners as their Eastern Regional Sales Director. Prior to entering the institutional and retail managed-money sales arena in 1999, Keith worked for seven years as an Associate Vice President of Investments with Morgan Stanley in suburban Philadelphia. Keith is a graduate of Rutgers University and lives in Southern New Jersey.



STEPHANIE L. GELLER - South-East Region
Vice President of Sales and Marketing, CIMA
Stephanie L. Geller joined Miller Howard in November of 2011 after 15 years at Northern Trust and Carl Domino Associates. Stephanie's 15 years of industry experience includes roles as National Sales Manager, Regional Manager, East Coast Sales Representative and Partner at CDA. She was responsible for raising significant assets in her territory, coordinating with her partner the securing of key National Account relationships as well as writing and designing campaign and white papers for Advisor and client use. Stephanie began her career as a financial advisor with Morgan Stanley in 1992. She holds the CIMA designation and currently resides in South Florida, where she has been a resident since 1989.


ERIC TESLER - Mid-West Region
Vice President of Sales and Marketing, CIMA, CRPC
Eric Tesler graduated from the University of Michigan with a BA in Business Administration and a concentration in Marketing. Prior to joining Miller/Howard, Eric spent three years with John Hancock Investments, four years with BlackRock, and three years with Dreyfus Investments. Eric holds the CIMA and CRPC designations.


SETH MOYER
RIA Divisional Specialist
Seth Moyer joined Miller/Howard in June of 2010. Prior to joining the firm, Seth was with Phoenix Investment Partners marketing Separately Managed Accounts and Mutual Funds and with ING Investment Management as a Senior Investment Specialist in the Institutional Fixed Income division. Prior to the investment business, Seth worked as a marketing consultant for ETRADE Financial and as a marketing associate for Warner Bros. Records in Los Angeles. Seth is a graduate of University of Southern California.


INTERNAL SALES DESK

MARK BOLTER - Eastern Division
Mark Bolter, Marketing Representative, joined Miller/Howard in January of 2007 after spending five years as a mortgage consultant, most recently with Wells Fargo Home Mortgage. Prior to working in the mortgage industry, Mark spent five years in the executive recruitment field specializing in high-end executive searches on a national scale. Mark has been a lifelong resident of New York's Mid-Hudson Valley region.


JUDD PETERSON - Western Division/Midwest Division
Judd joined the Miller/Howard team in 2011 and has over 25 years of industry experience. Judd started his career in 1985 building his book of business at John G Kinnard & Co based out of Minneapolis, MN. In 1994, as Vice President, Judd decided to join Dain Bosworth, which eventually became RBC. After moving to the east coast with his family in 2006, Judd relocated his business to be based out of Stamford CT as a Vice President of RBC Wealth Management. Judd also has experience with Allstate out of New Canaan CT. Judd brings deep, hands on, front line product knowledge and experience to the sales team here at Miller/Howard. Judd has a BA in Economics and BA in Sociology from the University of Minnesota where he was very active in college activities and has held numerous industry licenses, including Life/Health, Series 7, 66, and 65.
